THE JUPITER MOMENT

Are you familiar with The Planets by Gustav Holst?  My favorite section has always been the main theme of “Jupiter, Bringer of Jollity.”  I used to play it in the morning, to lift my spirits before heading out to my overwhelming job at St. Joe’s.  Those few minutes of pure joy helped me get through my days.

Today I visited the McDonald’s on Whittaker Road in Ypsilanti.  Right next to the parking area is an old woodlot that is truly alive with many forms of life, especially fae folk.  For years, I’ve been parking back there — where the energy is refreshingly quiet — and sharing classical music on the radio while I eat my lunch.  I always bless and thank the local fae for taking such good care of this precious remnant of forest; and many times they’ve made their appreciation known, often by waving just one leaf on a tree at me!

By pure coincidence (wink, wink), my usual classical station began playing Jupiter before I turned into McDonald’s driveway.  By the time I parked and began to eat, the main theme had ended, but my heart and soul were still thrumming with its beauty and majesty.

And the fae shared with me a vision: thousands upon thousands of them, in formations like waves, began to rise into the air, arms held out to the side and eyes closed in utter bliss, as the main theme once again began to play in my head.

Then the fae began to gravely spin in place, slowly, as they rose — in intimate connection with the Rising of the music.  And upon the glorious culmination of the theme, their bodies became almost incandescent with the profound JOY and LOVE and LIGHT written into the notes.

I have no further words I can use to describe how deeply this experience has affected me.

If you would like to taste this vision for yourself, the fae assure me that if you will listen to that main theme, they will show you a glimpse of Beauty beyond this world.

Peace and love from River
